I Wish My Dad Was A Horse

Last conference someone gave a talk about parenthood and talked about how their son wrote a poem about how he wished his dad was a dog. Hailey wishes her dad was a horse. She loves getting down on the ground and playing with her dad, especially since her mom is getting less and less playful. Most of the time I suggest reading books, playing puzzles, really anything that does not take too much movement. When dad comes home though, Hailey knows that he will play with her. Tonight she wanted dad to get on her while she pretended to be the horse. I thought it was so cute and couldn't resist taking a few photos.

Grandma and Janae

Grandma and Janae came and visited us a few weeks ago. Hailey, Kirt, and I had a great time visiting and getting spoiled by grandma. Even the baby got spoiled and he is not even born. Hailey had so much fun following Janae around and was very sad when they left. I was also glad that Janae came because grandma brought Hailey a new bed and Janae slept in it while she was here. When they left, Hailey was excited to play have the chance to sleep in the "big girl" bed. It also seems like Hailey has been talking more since they were here. I am sure Janae motivated Hailey to speak a little more.

Easter Egg Hunt

For Easter we went to Grandma and Grandpa Forman's house for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt. After dinner the Easter Bunny (a.k.a. grandpa) went outside to hide the Easter Eggs. Before we went hunting for the eggs the grandkids got to try to open the pinata. Hailey did not really understand the whole concept of why she was hitting it but I think she enjoyed it. Uncle Dave showed her how to use the wrapping paper roll as a baseball bat. It was fun to watch her during the Easter egg hunt because she was not very interested in trying to get the eggs. She got a sucker and was so excited about getting a sucker she didn't care that her cousins were getting the rest of the candy.

Easter Eggs

For Family Home Evening the Monday before Easter we decided to decorate eggs with Hailey. We put on one of Kirt's old t-shirts and let her loose. She really got a kick out of decorating the eggs especially because she loves eating eggs and I will usually never let her touch them. She wanted to mix all the colors together and had colored hands at the end, but overall we had a really fun night.

Pink Sunglasses

Hailey loves to act grown up. One day I was cleaning the bathroom when I heard Hailey singing. Her singing got louder and when I looked out the door there she was singing her favorite song, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" with her pink sunglasses on and her headband in her hair. It just made me laugh. It kind of reminded me of the outfits from the 80's. I am still trying to get a video of Hailey singing because she is so funny. She is so serious, it makes me wonder where she got it. (I'm sure it is from her dad - he taught her every funny trait she knows). I am so glad that Hailey is in our family. It is so fun to get breaks from the mundane tasks of life.

Oreo Picnic

We decided to go to the temple for Family Home Evening and talk about our sealing. We took our wedding album and showed Hailey the pictures. She enjoyed pointing out all the grandparents and aunts and uncles. After we talked we had some Oreos and Hailey got them all over herself (of course). After that we walked up to the fountains and took some pictures. The temple grounds look a lot better now with the new fountains and walkways. They even have speakers outside with music playing (that kind of confused Kirt at first. It was just fun to spend time together as a family at the temple.
